To'ak origins tour
This tour is one of our treasures, since this reveals the mystery on the quality that relies on Ecuadorian chocolate.
To’ak was born from a rainforest conservation project that co-founder Jerry Toth started in Ecuador in 2007. Through his nonprofit foundation Third Millennium Alliance.
The chocolate this soil produces comes from the oldest trees which study traced genetics as far back as 5,300 years according to the researchers; these kind of trees are rare since they were almost extinct, and their purity is at 100%.
In this tour, we will show you why this chocolate bar is not just the most expensive in the world, but also the best catalogued by experts.
We will leave from Manta to the farm located 95km away, or 1 hour and 30 minutes drive, once there we show you the farm and the trees, we will tell you the history of it, then we will go over the process that you will be part of to obtain the pure cacao, you will be able to choose the bean you want to process to make your own chocolate, then you will be able to eat your chocolate mixed with fruit from the area, after we will have local and exquisite lunch from the area, and finally we will ride a boat around the protected area to show you the forest.
